Small Business Marketing and Advertising
Scroll down to download our free marketing tips!
It's a dilemma. There's no time to market when business is booming, but then
there's no business because you didn't do any marketing or advertising. So you
get really busy and market like crazy, then you get busy again and quit
marketing because you don't have time. It's likely that the very way you market
(or don't market) is creating that "feast or famine" situation in your business.
Marketing is a year-round activity and should be approached strategically to
ensure that you constantly have a sufficient supply of customers and prospects
to keep your business on an even keel. And, after all, marketing is less
expensive and less labor intensive than selling, which is pretty much a
one-to-one activity.
The important thing is that you have a marketing plan to guide your marketing
& advertising activities for the year and that you stick with it no matter
how busy you are. Just remember that there always are lean times and that your
marketing efforts are designed to make them a lot less lean. You can always get
an outside source to handle the marketing if your sales are so great you're too
busy to do it yourself - a position we'd all like to be in!
While you're planning, don't forget to incorporate your Web site into your
plans. In this Internet Age we're in, your Web site can play an important role
in increasing your business.
